Opening remarks by H.I.H. Prince Kai-in, Honorary President, Japan Silk Exhibition, Kobe, April 1925:
“It is a great pleasure to me personally to attend the twentieth general meeting of the Japan Silk Yarn Association opened in Kobe by taking the opportunity of the Silk Exhibition now open in the city and reward those who have rendered meritorious services in the cause of the silk industry and also reward certificates of merit to those who have worked hard for the benefit of the Association.
“The responsibility of the Association is heavy indeed, remembering that silk yarn is the most staple article of export of Japan and therefore its prosperity or adversity has close bearing upon the welfare of the country.
“I hope that you will exert further efforts for the development and improvement of the industry so as to contribute towards the repletion of national resources.”
“An album of pictures commemorating the Japan Silk Exhibition held at Kobe in the spring of 1925 [April] for the revival of trade at that port, has been received from the General Silk Importing Company, Inc., of Kobe.
“The book contains photographs of the officials of the exhibit, distinguished visitors, views of the grounds, displays, and the attendant ceremonies and entertainments, affording a complete pictorial record of the event.”
